The International Society for the Study of Bladder Pain Syndrome (ESSIC) and the Convergences in Pelvi-Perineal Pain Society (CONVPP) proudly joined forces this year to host a combined Annual Meeting in the vibrant city of Milan, Italy, from 23-25 October 2025.
This collaboration between the two organisations, which are internationally active in the fields of bladder pain syndrome, pain management, and related disabilities, has been designed as a unique opportunity for specialists, healthcare professionals, and patient representatives to access expert knowledge and cutting-edge research in these fields.
Michelle Battye, ERN eUROGEN Programme Manager, attended and delivered a presentation on ERN eUROGEN and our collaboration with ESSIC, one of ERN eUROGEN’s Supporting Partners. Dick Janssen, from Radboudumc in the Netherlands, also presented the development of the clinical practice guidelines on Rare Bladder Inflammatory Diseases, which he is leading for ERN eUROGEN.
It was an honour for ERN eUROGEN to be invited by our esteemed ESSIC colleagues, and plans were discussed for further collaborative efforts on educational webinars and registries.
Additionally, during the meeting, a potential new Affiliated Partner member in Greece (one of the EU/EEA countries not currently covered) was identified. Contacts will be made in advance of the new call by the European Commission for Affiliated Partners to join ERNs where there is currently no geographical coverage, which is expected next year.
