Co-edited by Prof. Wout Feitz, former ERN eUROGEN Coordinator, and Jen Tidman, ERN eUROGEN Business Support Manager, the book combines clinical and surgical expertise from all three Workstreams with chapters on the network’s structures, registry, guidelines, and patient perspectives, followed by 19 clinical chapters written by experts from high-volume ERN centres. It has since been reviewed independently by Urology News and Doody’s Review Service.

The book covers Expertise Areas across all three Workstreams, including bladder, stone, and kidney disease; congenital malformations; pelvic floor disorders; the urethra; reconstruction; and rare cancers and tumours. It’s aimed at clinicians and researchers working in translational urology and surgery, including urologists, paediatric surgeons, and multidisciplinary team members looking to put new research into practice, and draws on contributions from high-volume centres across the ERN eUROGEN network.

Rare and Complex Urology was published in February 2024 by Academic Press (Elsevier), and is available in print (ISBN 9780323999342) and as an ebook (ISBN 9780323999359).

The first book in the ERN eUROGEN Expertise Area Book Series, Anorectal Malformations, is co-edited by Prof. Ivo de Blaauw (Expertise Area Coordinator for Urorectal/Anorectal Malformations), Dr Ramon Gorter, and Jen Tidman, with publication expected in Spring 2027.

The book will span fourteen chapters, from general and genetic considerations through newborn management and surgical technique to psychosocial care, functional outcomes, urological and gynaecological considerations, follow-up and quality of life, global care, the patient perspective, and future outlook. Contributors are drawn from ERN eUROGEN centres and international collaborators.
