We run structured, hands-on surgical training courses. The annual Paediatric Colorectal Course has run since 2023, delivered online in collaboration with the European Paediatric Surgeons Association (EUPSA) and supported by ERN ERNICA and ARM-Net, and covers the basics and techniques of treating anorectal malformations and Hirschsprung’s disease, combining interactive teaching with practical skills training on models. ERN eUROGEN also plans to develop a flagship highly specialised surgical training programme aimed at building Europe’s own capacity for ultra-rare and highly complex surgery rather than relying on visiting surgeons from outside Europe. The programme will combine cross-border collaboration through CPMS with mobile surgical teams and hands-on training on real clinical cases.
