ERN eUROGEN, the European Reference Network for Rare Uro-Recto-Genital Diseases and Complex Conditions, is pleased to announce new and updated resources for Anorectal Malformations (ARM). These materials bring together the latest expertise from our clinicians and patient representatives and are designed to support both healthcare professionals and families.
Access the Combined Clinical Practice Guideline
Our Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) on Anorectal Malformation has now been consolidated into a single, combined document. This comprehensive guideline covers the entire care pathway: diagnosis, treatment, lifelong follow-up, organisation of care, collaboration between healthcare providers, and transition to adult care.

Patient Journey in Audio Format
To improve accessibility, the ARM Patient Journey is now available in audio form. This abridged version makes the information easier to access for patients, carers, and families who prefer to listen.
👉 Find the audio version on our Patient Information page — open Workstream 1: Rare Congenital Uro-Recto-Genital Anomalies, then scroll to 1.7 Urorectal/Anorectal Malformations.
The Patient Journey is also still available in full-text and short brochure versions from our Patient Information page.
Sexual Support Website
In collaboration with the European Reference Network for Rare Inherited and Congenital Anomalies (ERNICA), ERN eUROGEN continues to provide access to the dedicated Sexual Support Website for Anorectal Malformations & Hirschsprung’s Disease. This resource is available in English and Dutch.

Call to Action: Implement and Share
We strongly encourage healthcare professionals to use these updated guidelines in their clinical practice and to share the patient information resources widely. By implementing best practices and making information accessible to families, we can collectively improve outcomes and quality of life for individuals with ARM.
