Expertise Area Coverage

ERN eUROGEN’s Member and Affiliated Partner healthcare providers (HCPs) must show evidence that they cover particular Expertise Areas (EAs) when they join the network. Because the expertise of an HCP can change due to new staff appointments or new endorsements of expertise by national health ministries, it is possible for HCPs to apply to expand their expertise. These applications must be approved by the ERN Board of Member States.

ERN eUROGEN and ERN ERNICA, the European Reference Network for rare Inherited and Congenital (digestive and gastrointestinal) Anomalies, overlap in clinical scope regarding Hirschsprung’s disease and Anorectal Malformations. Whilst ERN eUROGEN officially covers Anorectal Malformations, ERN ERNICA officially covers Hirschsprung’s disease. You can find the expert coverage for Hirschsprung’s disease within ERN ERNICA here.
