Healthcare & CPMS

Using the Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS), a secure web-based application that supports the European Reference Networks in the diagnosis and treatment of rare or low-prevalence complex diseases or conditions across national borders, our multidisciplinary teams of experts are able to give virtual consultations to diagnose, suggest treatment or surgery, and then provide post-operative and transitional support.

ERN eUROGEN CPMS Paper

You can learn more by downloading our 2022 paper, Cross-Border Video Consultation Tool for Rare Urology: ERN eUROGEN’s Clinical Patient Management System.

Key clinical messages: The Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS) is a virtual multi-disciplinary consultation tool for experts within the European Reference Networks (ERNs), which includes ERN eUROGEN, the ERN for rare urogenital diseases and complex conditions. Our analysis showed that this new secure video consultancy tool offers great opportunities for sharing knowledge and expertise once urologists are confident in using it. However, adaptations to make the tool more user-friendly are needed to further implement this in daily care.

ERN eUROGEN CPMS Newsletter

For our clinicians, we issue a newsletter specifically related to the Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS). This is usually published 2 to 3 times per year, dependent upon the number of changes made to the system and other CPMS-related news updates. Here are the links to previous issues:

ERN eUROGEN Case Referrals

In order to refer your case to ERN eUROGEN for consultation through CPMS, please note the following:

  • Your healthcare provider (HCP) must be located in an EU/EEA Member State.
  • The patient must have a rare urogenital disease or complex condition that falls within the scope of our ERN – please check the Expertise Areas we cover within our three workstreams.
  • You should ask for advice also from your national contact point on the Board of Member States for ERNs (BoMS) about the referral process for the ERNs.
  • If your referral is accepted by ERN eUROGEN, you must be willing to obtain full informed consent from the patient to share their data using CPMS and then we can grant you a guest user account for a short time period to access the system.
  • You must be willing to invest some time to upload the patient’s medical information, including any relevant imaging, to CPMS in order for their case to be discussed by our panel of experts.
  • You will receive an ERN Outcome Report document from our panel of experts with highly specialised advice on the diagnosis or treatment of the patient concerned, based on the latest current available scientific knowledge.
  • You understand that ERN eUROGEN can only provide expert, highly specialised multi-disciplinary advice – all legal liability and responsibility for the patient rests, as it has always done, with the clinician and healthcare provider treating the patient where the patient lives.

If you have a case that you would like to refer to ERN eUROGEN, please get in touch via our contact form, and we will respond with further advice.

CPMS Access

Authorised Users

Registered users can log into CPMS here.

Requesting Access

Access to the Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS) is strictly regulated to protect the data privacy rights of the patients. Only authenticated users (EU Login) can request authorisation (SAAS) from the ERN to use the CPMS. Each ERN has member Healthcare Provider centres (HCP), and it is envisaged that the users of CPMS are either Healthcare Professionals (HP) within these HCPs, or otherwise HPs authorised as guest users by the relevant ERN coordinator.

For those who are working in one of our member centres and have not registered, here is a guide to creating your EU Login, and applying for access to CPMS. If you require any additional help with this process, please email the ERN eUROGEN Helpdesk.

If you are a clinician working in a centre outside of our network but have a case that you wish to refer to us for help and advice, please click here for guidance.

CPMS Consent Forms

Below, you can quickly open the CPMS consent form in your chosen language, or if you wish to save a copy, right-click and select ‘”Save link as…” or “Save target as…”:

CPMS Problems

If you are having problems with either accessing or using CPMS, please refer to the common issues below for potential solutions in the first instance, or the FAQ provided by the Commission. If these do not solve your problem, or you have feedback with regard to using the system, please email the ERN eUROGEN CPMS Helpdesk.

EU Login

I have entered my EU Login details but I am not receiving a notification from my EU Login app on my mobile device

Currently, the EU Login app is not automatically sending a notification when you enter your EU Login details. When you enter your EU Login details, you will see a screen instructing you to open the EU Login app yourself and, on the Pending Authentication Request screen, press Continue. This will bring up the notification.

I have changed my mobile phone and I can no longer log in to my account

You can solve this by following these steps:

  • Go to the EU Login page via this link: https://webgate.ec.europa.eu/cas
  • Ensure that the verification method is set to ‘Password’
  • Log in
  • Toward the top right of your page, you should see your name next to a cog wheel
  • Hover over this and select ‘My Account’ from the menu
  • Select ‘Delete all my devices and EID’ and then click Delete
  • Once this is done, please register your new device through the usual procedure

CPMS

I have logged into CPMS but I cannot see anything on the pages

The most likely cause of this is that you have accessed CPMS via Internet Explorer, which is not a supported browser for this application. You should instead access the system through one of the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge. The latter is included with the Windows 10 operating system, but may not be the default browser, and therefore you may need to access it via the Start Menu. You can also use Safari to browse cases in  CPMS, but please see the isue with video meetings below.

I have joined a CPMS video meeting  but others cannot see or hear me

If you are joining a CPMS video meeting, we recommend that you use Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge as your browser. Unfortunately, Safari is not fully supported for video meetings, and it can cause an issue where you disappear from the participants list and you cannot be seen or heard (although you can still see and hear the rest of the meeting).
