ERN eUROGEN Webinar: Challenges in oncologic treatment of retroperitoneal sarcomas

On Tuesday 9th March at 18:00 CET, we will be continuing our series of eUROGEN webinars.

The webinar will be presented by Dr. Nina Dabelić, clinical oncologist at the Department of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, University Hospital Centre Sestre Milosrdnice in Zagreb, and is aimed at healthcare professionals. The presentation is co-authored by eUROGEN expert Prof. Ana Fröbe.

Sarcomas are a rare and very heterogeneous group of malignant tumours with more than 70 different histologic subtypes. Their biologic and clinical behaviour and response to oncologic therapies can vary widely across different subtypes. Retroperitoneal localisation of sarcomas represents an additional challenge for the diagnosis and treatment for various reasons that will be discussed. Certain principles of oncological management of retroperitoneal sarcomas will be outlined. The need for individualised tumour assessment and patient-tailored therapeutic decision making within a multidisciplinary tumour board will be highlighted. Several patients cases will be presented to illustrate the topic.
