Patient Involvement in Guidelines Development Handbook

Patient Involvement in Guidelines Development Handbook

An ERN Guideline Programme handbook on “Patients’ involvement in the development of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) and Clinical Decision Support Tools (CDSTs) on rare, low-prevalence and complex diseases: a guide for the chair and members of Guidelines Development Groups (GDGs)” has been published. This is the 13th handbook of the programme coordinated by AETSA.

The handbook focuses on incorporating the patient perspective into the development of clinical practice guidelines. It provides comprehensive strategies and methodologies for engaging patients throughout the guideline development process, ensuring their insights and experiences are central to creating effective and practical clinical recommendations.

We believe this handbook will be an invaluable resource for all stakeholders, emphasising the importance of patient-centred care.
