- Origins of ERN eUROGEN: Initiated in response to the EU Directive on Cross-Border Healthcare, ERN eUROGEN officially launched in 2017 and now brings together 52 healthcare providers across 20 countries.
- Patient-Centred Approach: From the beginning, patient representatives have been embedded in the governance structure, ensuring that their voices shape guidelines, patient information, and training resources.
- Achievements: The network has developed Clinical Practice Guidelines, Clinical Decision Support Tools, a registry, and educational webinars, while the Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS) enables secure cross-border case discussions.
- Collaboration & Research: ERN eUROGEN actively contributes to European and international research initiatives, including ERDERA and DeCODe, and has supported Ukrainian clinicians and patients during the war.
- Future Perspectives: Integration into national health systems is underway through the JARDIN Joint Action, with sustainability and political support at the European level looking promising.
