ERDERA Networking Support Scheme: Call Open

ERDERA Networking Support Scheme: Call Open

The ERDERA Networking Support Scheme (NSS) is now open for applications! This funding opportunity is a valuable resource for organising transnational networking events that foster knowledge sharing, research uptake, and collaborations across the rare disease and rare cancer communities.

The scheme is designed to strengthen new or growing research networks by bringing together clinicians, researchers, and patient advocacy organisations (PAOs). A key priority is encouraging inclusive participation, particularly from underrepresented countries (UCs) in European rare disease and rare cancer networks—so applicants are urged to think creatively about how to include these countries in their proposals.

Each networking event can be awarded up to €30,000, and the scheme offers flexibility to tailor events that meaningfully build relationships and promote collaborative research. The NSS is a permanently open call from May 2025 onward until funds are exhausted which is expected in April 2029. Applications can be submitted at any time but are reviewed in six-monthly collection rounds.

The ERN eUROGEN Coordination Team is here to support you in preparing your application. Please visit the ERDERA NSS website to review the full details and contact Michelle Battye, ERN eUROGEN Programme Manager (Michelle.Battye@radboudumc.nl) if you are considering applying.

We believe that cross-ERN collaborations are likely to be viewed favourably during evaluation. As such, we especially encourage groups such as those working on Spina Bifida and Transition—and others with cross-cutting interests—to explore this exciting funding opportunity.

We look forward to supporting your ideas and seeing the impact of your networking initiatives.
