Today, 19 June 2025, marks an exciting new chapter for the European Reference Networks with the public launch of the CPMS 2.0 Mobile Apps. Now available in both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, these apps bring the power of the Clinical Patient Management System (CPMS) directly to your fingertips, offering greater flexibility and the potential to transform how ERN members collaborate on the go.
This milestone is accompanied by the rollout of CPMS 2.0 desktop release 4.2, which continues to serve as the primary platform for remote clinical discussions. The latest release includes a range of enhancements designed to improve usability and performance:
- Advanced search functionality
- Audit logs for improved traceability
- Streamlined meeting agenda features
- Improved experience for assistants and admins
Together, the mobile and desktop upgrades represent a significant leap forward in enabling secure, efficient, and user-friendly case discussions across the ERNs.
Looking ahead, the development journey is far from complete. Over the next three years, CPMS 2.0 will continue to evolve, with the next major milestone being the launch of an open-source repository and associated community. This will expand the platform’s applicability beyond rare diseases, offering new opportunities for collaboration in diverse healthcare settings.
The European Commission’s DG SANTE, together with ERNs and key development teams, have played a vital role in delivering these advances. Their dedication and expertise have been instrumental in shaping the future of digital collaboration in the care of rare diseases.
As we celebrate this progress, the commitment to user feedback, security, and innovation remains at the heart of CPMS 2.0’s future.
